WHAT IS BREATHWORK?
Breathwork is using your own breath to go deep into your subconscious to let go of the things that are holding your back either physically, mentally, emotionally or a combination. This helps you love yourself deeper, appreciate life, love others, and bring a sense of purpose and clarity to your life.
Breathwork can result in intense physical and emotional release. Therefore, it is not advised for people with a history of cardiovascular disease, including angina or heart attack, high blood pressure, use of a pacemaker, glaucoma, retinal detachment, osteoporosis, and significant recent physical injuries or surgery.
Breathwork is not advised for people with mental illness or seizure disorders or for people using major medications. It is also unsuitable for anyone with a personal or family history of aneurysms.
Pregnant women are advised against practicing Breathwork without first consulting and getting approval from their primary care physician. People with asthma should bring their inhalers and consult with their primary care physician and the Breathwork class facilitator. This work is deeply experiential. It may involve intense and energetic emotional release. Breathwork is not advised for people who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Am I being recorded during online sessions?
This is up to you, as we use them for promotional purposes. By participating in any online sessions, you can agree or disagree for the session to be recorded prior to your session beginning.
How can I prepare for my live session?
We require you prepare for your session by doing the following: prepare a quiet space where you are able to focus, not have any distractions and are away from others. Gather a yoga mat (to lay down on), bolster or towel (for under your neck), eye mask/towel (for over your eyes), blanket (to regulate temperature) and a pillow (to yell into if you have neighbors or unable to yell out loud)
Before your session, please do not drink any caffeine and do not have a full stomach. Prepare an herbal tea or ceremonial cacao and burn some incense/palo santo to clear the air and set your intention for the session.
What are the contraindications for holosomatic breathwork?
Breathwork, while potentially beneficial, carries risks for certain individuals. It's advised that those with medical or psychiatric conditions avoid sessions without medical approval. Limited research exists on safety, so caution is paramount. Pregnant women are cautioned due to potential effects on the fetus. Asthma patients can participate with an inhaler. Cardiovascular issues, glaucoma, high blood pressure, detached retina, psychosis, epilepsy, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, recent psychiatric hospitalization, severe PTSD, osteoporosis, recent injuries/surgery, strokes, seizures, aneurysms, hypoglycemia, diabetes, infections, and blood-thinning medication all present risks.
