“I am lying on my back on a yoga mat in my living room trying to wipe the tears away from my face before they can pool in my ears. I don’t know if I will be able to describe the experience I just had.
I am fairly cynical, so when introduced to the idea of a breath coach, I had my doubts. After all, breathing is one of the few things I can do without thinking.
However, I love Corey Dupree, and I wanted to be supportive, so I scheduled a session with him via zoom. I live in Atlanta, so our session had to be virtual.
Before we began, Corey warned me that I might cramp up, that I might cry, that I would be uncomfortable at times but that I should just keep breathing. I wanted to say, “Dude, I manage to breathe literally 24 seven. I think I’ll be OK.” But I kept my snarkiness to myself and listened to his instructions.
Moments into the session, the nasty negative thoughts that invade my mind seemed relentless. The only thing I could do to stop them from coming was to focus on my breath.
When my hands and arms started cramping up, I doubled down and focused even more on the breath entering and leaving my body.
When I couldn’t seem to control the feral animal sounds emitting from my throat, I focused on my breath. Everything was breathing.
Once when I was in Portugal, I stood on the rocky cliffs over the Tagus river and watched water shooting up from fishers in the rocks. As waves hit the shore the water seemed to just shoot from the rocks like geysers. That’s what happened to my face at the end of the session. It was so cathartic that I could not stop the tears. I had both a physical and emotional release. I felt like I was tripping. I felt a wave of pure love, and I am the kind of person who would snicker at a person for saying such things.
I immediately thought, I have to do this as much as I can.”

“I have never done a breathing session prior to Corey. But I can tell you that this was the most beautiful, intense release of my life! I immediately felt energized, connected, alive moments after our breath work. His voice is so calming & relaxing, that I was able to transcend to another universe. One I didn’t know I needed to experience until afterwards. I highly recommend you take this journey with Corey and lead with an open heart…if you’re ready to receive, you could change your life!”

“A few weeks ago I had an amazing Breathwork session led by my buddy Corey. If you’ve never done serious breathwork I highly recommend it. It’s like a shot of adrenaline and a wonderful and complete head and body change. Corey was a great coach [facilitator] If you’re interested hit him up @interconnectedbeing”

“Starting off this testimonial with some insight about me in case anyone can relate. I went into this breathwork session with Corey with an open mind and a touch of skepticism, within seconds. Yes, SECONDS. My body and mind were responding to the breathwork he was coaching me through. As someone who is *slightly* high strung and has trouble being both vulnerable and giving up control, I cannot explain to you how much this experience meant to me. I left feeling rested, lighter, and with an overall sense of peace.
Okay, now to the details! Corey both thoroughly explained the process to me before the session through a detailed “what to expect” message as well as guided me through the breathwork session, reminding me to breath, how to breath (trust me, this is incredibly important), provided me with words of affirmation and made me feel safe, loved and completely at ease through this experience.
The process: it seems simple - just lay down and breathe. That’s the general idea BUT the process itself is not one I could have imagined doing alone. You’re laying on a yoga mat, focusing on breathing in a very specific way (Corey goes over this multiple times and continually breathes along with you as a reminder), you have a neck pillow for support, a blanket as your body temperature fluctuates during the session, and an eye covering to provide as few distractions as possible.
My personal response during the breathwork session: Again, as someone who has trouble giving up control I didn’t expect to be able to let go so easily and quickly! Within the first 60 seconds of Corey guiding me through this breathwork session my body began tingling. You know when your hands or feet begin to fall asleep before they get prickly and uncomfortable? That’s what it felt like, but all over my entire body. He told me of the possible physical responses I might have prior to starting as well as in his what to expect message so that was extremely helpful in preparing me for what might come. I also felt muscle cramps (not unbearable or extremely uncomfortable, a mix of tightness leaning towards a cramp if that makes sense) and I was a bit shaky. Emotional responses I had were not as intense as my physical ones, likely because I had been working through some internal struggles the days prior and I tried to simply focus on my breathing and relaxing my mind. I realize these don’t sound pleasant but trust me, I would absolutely experience this again one hundred times to leave feeling with the intense sense of relief that I felt after working with Corey.
I cannot say thank you enough to Corey for not only creating a safe, nurturing and loving environment, but for making my first breathwork session one that has given me a new outlet for reflection, creating a general calmness in my body (both physically and mentally), and guiding me through what is an extremely vulnerable experience.”
